 Holiday Madness

Yes folks its holiday madness time. I really did feel quite mad buying a 4.5 ft fake tree at the grocery store on dec 22! but i did bec it was marked down from 30 not because i was thinking clearly. but to be perfectly honest, i managed to trudge up my old sentimental insanity that comes out this time of year. my college daughter and i decorated it. she got tired after a bit, but i kept on, pulling out old charming ornament one after the other. Even a few funny ones with awful pictures of my daughters they made at school!
Whats even funnier is that here in the deserty southwest, we had a big snowstorm and everywhere else it should have snowed it was rainy, 50-60s or sunny. Even NYC! HA!
So we get the white Christmas and they dont! oh well, they probably enjoyed their chanukahs and their kwanzaas and all too. Happy kwanzaa to all and to all a good kwanzaa.
i just like christmas because of its pagan roots, altho my friend zoomer would be chagrined. dont know how pyewackets takin it. well theresa, thanks so much for the cute pic in my blog yet! wow

 Needed at work

when you go back to work after a one week vacation and there are 17 messages on your voicemail and your mailbox got so full that you are getting the over limit message from the system, well you just know how so very needed you are, right? hmm

Then on top of that the phone does not stop ringing all day, your snailbox is full, and someone has actually left a report on your desk you requested 2 days prior to your vacation!
well all that love can just go to your head!

 Angel Baby

You've got Big brown Eyes
and chubby Fat cheeks
blowin bubbles like
there's no Tommorrow
but you're Not
under water.

Clap your hands, no sound
crying, no one's around
Pull the shapes up,
Pull the shapes out,
Wham! they're on the ground.

You're my angel
Angel Baby
You're my sweet sweet,
best-after-50 Treat!
You're my angel
Angel Baby
with sweet feathery
tiptoe to me feet.

So come on
Give Grandma a hug
Angel Baby
You're as cute as a bug
and I love your mug
Angel Baby

Love you, Love you.love you
Angel Baby
you've made your grandma proud
But I cannot wait "til
you say it right out loud
Gramma gramma, look what i've got
and you'll show me your latest
that your mama just bought.

Sweet dreams at night
Angel, Angel Baby,
Don't let the bedbugs bite
and don't worry, Angel Baby
'Bout the
rest of your life!
Cuz, listen, Angel BAby
swear by bibles, bugs and bats
Your grandma says
Everything will come out
Just Right!

Love grandma LGL

 diabetes

just when you were ready to take on the world again, after making a big life change.......BAM, your body falls apart. got the news that my A1C was high. the drs are being more strict about pre-diabetes adn type 2 as well. i fell into it, but itmay have been destiny- father and sister have it and dont know about other relatives. then i start looking at what kinds of foods i have around and its a sea of carbs! the long and short is that it feels so unfair, yet like the skeleton tarot card, getting rid of the excess fat, and layers of self oppressive poison may reveal not only a more sane me but a healthier me.
its just not as easy to give up sugar as you think. the real challenge is the coffee i drink all day long. at first i tried it with just milk and it went down but not so easily. now im back up to half a tsp of sugar. i may have floated back into denial land as easily as a flat boat slips down the nile in search of freedom.
what the us government does not realize is that change cannot occur when forced upon people. people have to be offered the tree ofknowledge, filled with apples of hope, not thunderstorms of bullets, bombs and blood. war doesnt bring democracy unless the people waging it are the ones who took up the guns to fight their oppressors.
in the case of iraq we are the oppressors no matter how much we try to pretend otherwise. the war needs to end now now now
my war against my sugar habit, on the other hand has just begun. what i really need to know is, is there a sugar free healthy and tasty breakfast cereal around? thanks and vote for peace

 depressionera thoughts

I remember how people used to comment that people who lived thru the depression had habits of never wasting, saving scaps and tidbits, always comparison shopping, ultimate frugality always! i am like thatnow and i never lived thru the depression, however, i was a starving student when i was 20. i was very proud and had this point of not depending too much on my parents. my oldest daughter is like thatnow and the second oldest somewhat also. my second dsughter is very inventively frugal, homemade almond milk et al. my third daughter took a detour and is the shopper pro of all. She is a bit materialist, altho now, as a not so starving student, she is lowering her sights. Poor thing, living in NYC, she is surrounded by the richest of the rich.
Its an interesting contrast how my oldest daughter says rich people are messed up, its better to be lower class and "real". I constantly find myself envying them, altho i think that once you have it, you become materialistic and have to protect it and keep the bad guys at bay. i dont really have to worry thatmuch about being robbed. what would they steal?
Nonetheless, I am very happy in my little apartment by myself, and the stress of trying to be someone i wasnt is so very gone now. I doubt my ex will ever come to understand it, but thats ok. It never mattered to him and never will. He only wanted me for his mummy, like so many men. WHY do men want their wives to be their mothers? Or do i pick losers. Tell me please.
This blog is mostly just thinking thru things that have been happening. I bet I'll read my story in a hundred other blogs. womanleavehusband and money to be poor and free. geez. life goes on.
